To Walk Under Palm Trees

The Germans in Samoa: Snapshots from Albums

41 – CHAPTER THREE

TGIS 3-41 Final

German settler, Gustav Adolph Moritz Klinkmuller (profiled previously in image 19), was a prominent Apia lawyer with wide hobby interests. He was a keen naturalist, hunter, collector, taxidermist and photographer. Earlier, in “To Walk Under Palm Trees” we have used photos from the extensive Klinkmuller collection to illustrate a few places and events around Apia in the colonial times. In this chapter we display some more of the photos he took.
